How to Set Up Your Outdoor Dog Bed | ZONFLON

Comfort at home, outdoors and on the go. Simple setup and easy care.
Before you begin: A few simple steps will have your dog’s new favourite resting spot ready. Close the protective liner, slip on the cover, and give the foam 24–48 hours to reach its full, comfortable shape.

Enjoy an easy-care dog bed for home, outdoor adventures and travel. Follow this guide to set up your bed, help the foam settle and keep the removable cover fresh.

What’s inside

  • A cushioned foam base for comfortable everyday rest.
  • A protective waterproof liner, already fitted around the foam.
  • A removable, washable outer cover.

How to set up your outdoor dog bed

Unpack your dog’s new bed

Open the packaging carefully and remove the vacuum bag, keeping sharp tools away from the bed. Lay the foam flat with its textured side facing up.

Close the protective liner

The liner is already fitted around the foam and arrives partly unzipped for compact packaging. Gently close the zipper all the way so the foam is fully enclosed and protected.

Slip on the cover

Place the lined foam inside the outer cover, align the corners and smooth the fabric before closing the zipper. Keep the textured foam side facing up. If the cover feels a little loose at first, that’s expected—the foam still needs time to fill it out.

Let the foam settle into shape

Leave the assembled bed flat in a well-ventilated spot for 24–48 hours. As the foam expands, the cover will sit more neatly around it. Thank you for giving your dog’s new bed a little time to get comfortable.

We usually give the foam time to air out before packing. Occasionally, to get your bed to you promptly, some fresh-foam scent may remain. Let it air for a few days in a well-ventilated spot to help the scent fade.

Make room for everyday comfort

Use your dog bed indoors or outdoors, on the floor, in a well-fitting crate, or during travel and camping breaks. Lay it flat on a stable surface. The waterproof cover and protective liner help with everyday spills and a little light rain; bring the bed inside rather than leaving it exposed to heavy rain for long periods.

How to wash and care for your dog bed

  • Cover and liner: remove both from the foam before washing. They share one care label—follow that label for washing and drying instructions.
  • Foam: gently spot clean as needed. Keep the foam out of the washing machine and avoid soaking it.
  • Let every part dry completely, then zip the liner around the foam and put the cover back on.

Enjoy your bed every day

  • Create a comfortable resting spot wherever your dog likes to settle: at home, in a crate, outdoors or on a trip.
  • Keep the bed away from fire and give it a quick check during regular cleaning.
  • If your dog likes to chew bedding, supervise their use and remove any damaged pieces before they can be swallowed.

Common questions

Why is the dog bed cover a little loose?

The foam is compressed for shipping and needs 24–48 hours to expand. Keep the liner zipped and the cover fitted while the bed rests flat. The cover will fit more neatly as the foam reaches its full shape.

How long does the foam take to expand?

Allow 24–48 hours after unpacking, with the bed lying flat. If it still looks noticeably uneven after that time, contact us with your order number and a short description so we can help.

Why does my new foam bed have a slight scent?

We usually air the foam before packing, but a little fresh-foam scent may remain when a bed is prepared sooner for delivery. A few days in a well-ventilated spot will help it fade. If you need further help, please get in touch.

Which side of the foam goes up?

Keep the textured side facing up inside the liner and cover, ready for your dog to rest comfortably.

Can I machine wash the dog bed?

The removable cover and liner are machine washable. Take them off the foam and follow their shared care label. Spot clean the foam separately, then let all parts dry completely before putting the bed back together.

Can I use the bed outdoors?

Yes. It’s made for indoor and outdoor resting, travel and crate use. A little light rain is fine; avoid leaving the bed exposed to heavy rain for long periods.
